Welcome to our exclusive self catering Charentaise farmhouse Gite close to Cognac in the Charente Maritime region of SW France. For 6 to 8 people - we offer two en-suite double bedrooms plus a family suite with shower room wc and sink with adjoining twin bedroom perfect for 2 adults and 2 children.
Our Gite accommodation is a spacious 220m² and completely exclusive set in a 2 acre garden with swimming pool and play area for children. It is a truly tranquil and peaceful location situated on top of a hill with magnificent views over the vineyards and surrounding forest.
A lovely place to bring the whole family or come with a group of friends to really enjoy the many attractions that you can do in this area or simply chill out and totally relax in this rural location.

Why the Charente Maritime?
Cognac, even if you do not drink it, Cognac the town is very impressive, taking a tour around one of the many big brands of Cognac just to see how Cognac is produced is very interesting or else you can sit at the many cafes and watch the world go by.
The Charente River - a truly lovely place to fish, boat, walk, cycle along or picnic at. Our Gite is just 5 minutes cycle away.
Saintes, once the Roman capital of France and a cafe society town with lovely shops, walk ways restaurants, chateau, events, Roman ampitheatre and more.
Oysters - In abundance delicious and very good value.
Beaches - Half hour drive from our Gite
Golf - Close by our Gite are 18 hole golf courses in Saintes and Cognac and one 9 hole golf course close by.
Gite Information
When the Gite is booked the swimming pool and all facilities are for your exclusive use.
The Gite has a fully equipped kitchen/diner and a lounge with PC, WiFi,DVD, Sat TV, games, books and tourist information.
There is an 8 by 4m² swimming pool with a hard safety cover, childrens play area and bicycles.
The Gite has private parking.
Airports - Our Gite is just over one hour from La Rochelle, Poitier and Bordeaux airports and under an hour from the airport at Angouleme.
The owners, Julia and Robert live on site to answer any questions and be on hand to help.
Our Gite is located near the village of Chérac in the Borderies known locally as the golden triangle for Cognac grape growing near to the magnificent Charente river.
The history of Cognac is fascinating and began in the 17th century.Cognac comes only from one region, the agricultural district of the Charente Maritime on the west coast of France and covers 200.000 acres.
A common misconception is that all brandy is called Cognac.Natives of the region put it this way; "All cognac is brandy, but not all brandy is cognac".
One way to find out for yourselves is to visit our lovely area.
